A Day at the Oregon Coast: Iconic Oregon Adventures Fueled by Naked Juice
It's no secret that one of the best places to escape this Portland heat wave is the Oregon Coast. Cannon Beach is a popular and classic weekend getaway in any season (read more about my spontaneous winter trip to the coast here), but the sea-breezy, coastal climate makes for the perfect respite from a hot summer in the city.
This past weekend, my family and I packed a picnic and drove out to Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. Typically, I like to jam-pack as many adventures as possible into my summer weekends because there is so much to do here in the Pacific Northwest. (White water rafting on the Deschutes River for example.)
But I can't tell you how good it truly was to have one Saturday this July with nothing on the agenda but a little face-time with the sun, the sea and Haystack Rock. No plans proved to be the best plans.
Despite the sea-breeze, the sun was scorching for the coast. My Naked Juice coconut water came in handy for hydration purposes. Organic and Fair Trade Certified Naked Juice Pure Coconut Water is full of potassium and electrolytes for a day of playing in the sun. It's also pretty tasty. I'll be blending up this coconut water with my favorite Oregon berries in smoothies for the rest of the sumer.
All in all, it was the perfect day with just the right ratio of exploration to relaxation. Sometimes even the most adventurous need a just a day at the beach. Do you have any big plans for the remainder of summer? I'll be heading out early for my August adventure next weekend. Stay posted on Instagram @paper.airplane and @chloehighberger for a sneak peek.
